To Feed or Not to feed

I was in my yard today putting corn out for the squirrels. A woman was walking by and said "you shouldn't feed those rats". She went on to tell me that the squirrels have chewed into her house twice. I have been feeding birds and squirrels for years now and never had a problem. Maybe they see me as the nice person who provides them with ample and her as the mean old scrooge who resents their being. Whatever the case, I enjoy watching their antics and will continue to feed them.
